One Piece Valves.

Right so i called Roland Alsop 2 weeks ago to order a set of Supertech valves.

They told me that they have 15 sets on order and are waiting on them from the USA, should be in 2 weeks time.
Today i called them and still nothing and they also couldn't give me a date.

My problem is that my heads away having new valve guides and being ported, i don't want the Supertechs to hold up the head work.

So what else is available chaps?

Give PEC a shout and ask to speak to Dave, when I spoke to him a week back he said he had a set available to go.

Cheers matey, ill call them tomo morning

Do you have a contact number?

Sinus are proper single piece. When I emailed them last month they wanted $150 per valve! If Danny can get them for that price seems well worth it. I ended up with supertechs from Roland.

ktec stock supertechs but £££££££ more than ED I think.

So PEC haven't got any stock of the Supertechs, the guy said its gone mad with people buying them.

I also called Engine Dynamics who had them in stock but wanted £449, no ta.

Looks like it will be the Sinus valves then.

That's a shame about Dave @ PEC.

did he say how quickly he could get you a set?

No mate, Dave's away on holiday at the moment.

The guy I spoke to gave me ED number.
RA want £300 for a set, don't mind paying a little bit more but not £450.

Thanks anyway mate. :)

IIRC the Sinus exhaust valves are only 214N steel not inconel? so although they are one piece they arent quite as good a material. So its a bit six of one and half a dozen of the other in terms of which is the better product.

TBH Im sure either will be fine, I carry on using the supertech ones simply because Ive used them for ages faultlessly including on turbo applications where heat levels are higher and Ive never personally heard of a supertech valve on an F4R failing as although they are two piece they are joined much further up the stem than a normal valve so the joint isnt exposed to heat anyway.

As I said mate, Im sure both types will be fine for your application, supertechs are merely my personal preference.

Yeah but what if I SC it later on?

Still be ok?

The guy doing the head said its not such a big rush, he can wait 2 week's or so.

Well the supertechs are certainly fine for boosted use, cant comment on the sinus as not personally used them for that.

As Chip-mk1 said a number of us use the Supertechs, but I know of a people using Sinus valves with no problems at all.

I guess ultimately because of the coating and material used the Supertech's are 'more suited' to boosted / higher heat levels.

What do you use in the meggy gray? its either between supertechs or sinus for my build, scoff has said he used supertechs in his r5 but I wont be touching as much power as that thing lol

Right bit of an update, spoke to RA again late yesterday.

They have said that they have spoken to Supertech and the delivery date they have been given is the end of March. :(

Anyhow they said to them that this is not good enough and that they need a few sets asap as they have customers waiting, the problem is that RA bought the last 9 sets of valve's and Supertech have no blanks in stock.
So its taking so long as Supertech are waiting on the blanks then they have to make the valves.

But Supertech have said they the should be able to get a few sets sent out in 2 weeks time. :D

I even offered to pay for my set to secure them along with a set of ARP rod bolts but they didn't want payment.

My heads away being ported so ive got a couple of weeks to sort this.

I still need to get my head done but can't yet as I'm going oversize valves.
