only had this french can 2 weeks!!!

Well after two weeks of ownership I was drving along and the car felt like it gently popped outta gear but being French it broke, the Speedo moves like a rev counter and selects all gears fine but no drive please say its a simple problem and not the gearbox I've had it looked at and its not the driveshaft he said I need a new box but before I splash out I want to make sure its not something silly that is common, anybody else had this happen?

New box is best bet.

Sounds like the circling has popped

As said, circlip at a guess.

You can replace them, but Iv had 2 boxes do this in the past, but both kept popping them again

It rarely works though as its difficult to get full penetration... Most times the weld ends up being as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

New box job! or get a new circlip refitted and whack one of these in! worked a treat on my old clio

Had the circlip done and tack welded the little s**t shut it won't be coming off again

It will pop again even when welded
