Oops...Crashed the V6 (lots of pics)

Basically spun it on a greasy junction (the top of Kelsall hill, for the locals). All happened in slow motion about 20mph. I'm just lucky no one else was involved. I'll let the pic's tell the rest -

I'm not going through the insurance so it's going to be costly

Anyone have any of the panels i need??

There was a ph1 v6 being broken on ebay within the last couple of weeks iirc with a good front end on it.

good fibre glass repairer will sort that out. Go to a fibre glass specialist as opposed to a bodyshop.

Used them probably 5 or 6 time for things with the family and my bits and bobs.

Hey mate, gutted for ya, just noticed your from nantwich, i live in whitchurch and there is a very good bodyshop across from where i work, i mean sh*t hot, they arent the cheapest but do a bloody good job, do the repair work for BMW in shrewsbury, have some proper cars in, nice bunch aswell, might be worth a phone call!!

I think those bumpers are £800 a throw, before paint and labour. It's looking a tad expensive not to go through the insurance I think.

u'll get 2nd hand bumpers, try matt black. silvers the most comon mk1 v6 colour so shouldn't be too hard to get em IMO.

I'm going to give the insurance a call this morning. I've done a quote online and it only puts it up by £100 for a £5k claim...lets just hope they don't write it off.

I'm not sure, even it that's 3 or 4k damage it's still not even half the cars value, but then who knows why insurance companies decide what they do

Rang them up before and they guy is going to contact some specialists tomorrow. There is a fibreglass specialist in Telford, Shropshire he said it might get taken to for a quote.

Hopefully the back might be able to be repaired without being replaced going to a specialist.

you have better chance of repair as they dont use renault parts as a rule of thumb, and like repair panels rather than replace. Back should be very easy to repair.

I'd have to say thats very bad luck to have a crash, but also immensely lucky to have done so little actual damage, I know the parts are expensive but could have but sooooooo much worse IMO

Just had a call from Admiral. The garage it is going to will be calling me later to arrange a pick up time for tomorrow.

Not bad service so far as i only rang Admiral yesterday at 14.10 and they have arranged it all already. Fingers crossed they can sort it!!!

Update

Rang Admiral this morning who advised they have received the quote from the bodyshop and a decision would be made by midday tomorrow!

Decided to ring the bodyshop to find out what they quoted so i have an idea. The women said we have quoted £3500 which was based on an estimate from our computer system which was on a normal clio.....she then stated, with it being the v6 parts will be more expensive (well spotted lady)

I can't work out wether she meant it was originally based on a normal clio but they have increased the amount reflective of it being a V6. Surely the damage to mine (if a normal clio) would not be £3500.00?!?!
