Oops looks like i have deleted a folder

which is part of the operating system , and media player wont work

Any easy way to get them back (I have tried a repair using an XP disc)

I guessed that after i had logged off , It needs more than that as i keep getting messages telling me files cannot be found , was hoping for a quick fix rather than have to do a bare install

System restore takes me back to the point where i tried to restore from the disc and its still fooked

try to repair using the method of putting in the disc an then booting from it. Somewhere along the setup you should have an option to re-install windows, without formatting your hardisk drive.

i can on mine. (xp media centre 2006)
