operating temperature!

Hi all,

Ive had my 1.2 dynamique a week now, and the one thing thats bugging me is the temperature it seems to run at. Its a 51 plate with 22,500 miles on it by the way. Anyway, whenever its driven the temperature rises to a fraction above the halfway mark on the gauge i.e the needle is just above pointing exactly left. I dont know anyone else who has the same car, so I cant look at theirs to get a comparison so can anyone tell me whether or not this seems to be a normal temp for it to be running at? or where on the gauge your own cars run at?

if it is above normal, anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? thanks in advance everyone, reply with any input you have as im seriously paranoid about this now as ive only just got the car and have a lot of miles to do in the next few weeks! thanks!

p.s. i am a newbie on here, so hello everyone!

thanks mate. i just thought it was a bit odd that the car was running at just over halfway up the scale despite it being 3 degrees outside! when ive popped the bonnet the motor doesnt seem hot or anything, but the fan has been on. am i just being paranoid?! lol

im going to go down the exhaust, i/k route within weeks and wanted to make sure the car wasnt going to have to go into a dealer once i had done in case they moaned about mods invalidating the warranty.

cheers peeps

yes, very paranoid! This is where it should sit so its running fine. It doesnt matter how cold or hot it is outside as the gauge is measuring the coolant temperature

cheers spirez!

well i guess ill just calm down and start buying stuff for me new car then - until i melt the block and blow the head gasket and say "i told ya so!" lol
