For £352 incl delivery it comes with:
1. CANON 18-55mm IS LENS
2. Wide Angle Lens
3. 2X Telephoto Lens
4. UV Digital Filter
5. 8GB SDHC card
6. *Extra* Li-ion Battery
7. Camera Bag
8. SD Card Reader
9. 50 INCH Tripod
10. Lens Cleaning Kit
11. Mini Travel Tripod
12. LCD Screen Protector

Is this a good deal or is there a better model I should look for for that
price?
This will be used by the whole family so I hope it is sturdy!

Thanks!

Hope that didn't sound to negative because its a nice little starter camera, its similarly priced to Argos who have just the camera and lens, so its high street vs extra eBay junk that'll end up in the bin...

I think you are right. I hadn't seen the Argos price before or I would have not considered Ebay as I already have:

1. 16GB + 8GB cards
2. Card reader
3. Tripod

and really only need
1. Camera bag
2. Extra battery

Which I can buy by themselves easily.

EDIT: Just checked and the Argos camera is out of stock both online and at 6 stores around my area of residence + work :(

I noticed that the one on Ebay is refurbished!

Please let me know if you find any new ones with the IS lens for up to £350!

We just got a 3 month old one (originally purchased from Argos, including the receipt) for £280.

This includes the "good" IS lens :)

I got a very old and very cheap Pentacon 1.8/50mm manual focus lens to try just
for fun.

Below is an 100% crop or a portrait I took today.

Thanks for the kind comments. I still have a LOT to learn though.
The more I read about photography the more I see how little I know.

This are the EXIF values recorded:
Shutter: 1/60sec
Aperture >f/1024
ISO 400

  Cupra
Save yourself time and dont worry about listing the EXIF data for shots. I have an EXIF viewer plug in for firefox which is handy should I want to know more about how an image was created.

EXIF is only really interesting if you are trying to understand how somebody has created a certain image (long exposure, shallow depth of field, flash used etc).

To enjoy and understand your camera more, I would say turn the program dial a couple of notches around, away from the green box or P and experiment to see what the effect of controlling the aperture or shutter speed has on your photos.

Have fun!

I just ordered another lens as a present to be used by the family.
I got a good deal for a wide angle Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 for shooting landscapes.

So now I got the following:
1. 18-55 IS for generic everyday use
2. Tamron 75-300 DG APO for wildlife and macros
3. Pentacon 1.8/50mm for portraits
4. Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 for landscapes

Any suggestions on how the above should best be used (what subjects I should shoot with each?).

5. Canon EF 38-76mm

I know, I just wanted a budget lens for my girlfriend's 350D with a little more zoom than the 18-55.
