Opinions on CUP Private Plate

Been looking around for a private plate for a while now. Unfotunately my initials are AMG so the chance of finding a reasonable priced one is pretty unlikely.

So what i'd like instead is some opinions on whether a plate ending in 'CUP' should be put on a non-cup that is stripped with cage, buckets, coilovers, air con removed etc ?

Well i think the CUP plate is a definite no then.

I've looked through the AMG ones and there's not really anything i like the look of (all a bit long)

Couldn't really find any other decent Renault or Clio related plates.

I found one that's fairly close to my surname though (Gibson) = G13 SOH. What do you reckon ?

It's close, but not quite... I never see the point in plates that keep you guessing- but each to there own. It's better than the CUP suggestion though matey

Yeah i was looking at these earlier, what is the law on the letter spacing though ?

For example the first one on that page, can you have it as C11O AA ?

If you buy a plate that in anyway describes the car it is attached to, you are forever bound to buying that type of car, or sell the plate with the car. I see a lot of BMW M3s or M5s with 'M3 XXX' or 'M5 XXX' plates. Pointless, IMO. I know it's an M3, it says so on the back, why waste a few hundred nicker on what is basically a big badge?

The worst perpetrators are those who put these plates on lesser models.


So then, no CUP plate on a non-Cup. I wouldn't even put a CLIO or CUP plate on my Cup. But, that's just one man's opinion....
