  Bmw 120i sport
Hi all,

I've just joined up as have a notion of a 172 or a 182, currently have a r50 mini one and it's just a cheap runaround for my work(have the family car for family duties) was planing on doing a Cooper s gearbox and engine conversion but spotted a stripped out and caged inferno orange Clio at my work and had a look on auto trader,
Spotted this.....
I just found a great car on Auto Trader:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201706286866839

Sorry about the found great car bit lol it's just copy and pasted from auto trader

So thought I would ask advice from people who know these cars

Cheers
Jim

Suppose it would be OK if the belts had been done recently, I'd personally hold out for a 172 cup or 182 FF if I had £2k to spend. Also ask what brand the coilovers are, if budget like v-max or similar ask for money off as they're gash and would need replacing with OE or a better brand.

Thanks guys, just missed out on an inferno 182 that a friend of mate was selling for £1500, contacted him yesterday but it sold on Friday

Some of the description doesn't seem very accurate, states zenons and cup suspension as well as saying coilovers lol

Right old load of b****cks in that description, I don't even think it's for that car??

It doesn't have the cup spoiler pack
If it has coilovers then it doesn't have the cup suspension pack either.
Seats are standard not the Recaro upgrade.
No sat nav
No competition stripes
No xenons
No sunroof

Yeah the description isnt the best, might be worth a look if not a million miles away

A rule to live by (unless you're shopping for a £250 heap) if someone doesn't possess the intelligence to write a simple ledgible description of their car, how on earth can you expect them to have read the manual, and in turn, done any of the correct servicing required?

It's about a 30 minute drive, just thought I would get some prior advice before having a look  my heads saying keep looking but I might go for a nosey and see what it's like in person, check out what coilovers it has etc and report back with info

Might help with negotiating a price if you take a print out of the advert, then walk round the car with the sales guy pointing out all the stuff thats missing.
