Opinions! Xenons on my cup?

  Turbos.
Why bother, the xenons aren't any good. It would be for cosmetic reasons, and i'd question the sanity of spending that much money on something no one else would even notice.

Do it. It's the ballast that weighs extra IIRC but this isn't crucial.

its a preference thing tbh , i got a spare wheel in my car , the weight thing doesn't matter that much .

Yeah 172 cup has an empty wheel well, with a bit of a half hearted tool kit at the top of it with the jack etc... The boot floor is like hardboard or something hence it dont collapse into the void.

The xenons? im still undecided, if i buy and put on they will be worth what i pay all day long to sell when get bored of them but........... hmm i dunnno

Have to be self leveling aswel to be legal! Dont think they would be right on a cup, doesnt go with the motorsport image!

Although do new rally cars an touring cars have them!?

They are a load of b*llocks. Don't waste your money.

I've had a 1.2 16v and a 182 with the same shape headlights but one being standard and the other xenon and I can't tell the difference. Only thing you notice is a the purple tinge on road signs and people flashing at you cos they think you are on high beam.

They are only fitted on cars for snobbery reasons to show off that it is the top of the range. Eat more carrots if you are having trouble seeing.

Get the halfords super brilliance bulbs.

Meant to be 50% brighter, i have a set on mine and they're brill!

Look like xenon's too when on, as give out a really clear white light as opposed to the usual cup yellow tinge.

^ I wear contacts and its a bloody nightmare driving at night with the glare etc need a smuch light as poss!

  Inferno 182 w/ Recaros ;)
In response to Toypops comment he must have had a duff 182, as the lights on mine are fantastic. I have never had such good performance from a set of headlights. HID lights are utterly brilliant, and make night time driving so much easier.

Every subsequent car I get that doesn't come with them I will be buying a set. Illegal or not it won't bother me.

Cars only have to have washers and self leveling installed if the Xenons are factory fit, if they are after market, you dont need them to be illegal. What makes them illegal is the headlight unit is not designed for HID's, so it sends the light beam all over the fuckin shop, dazzling other drivers.

  182 inside
if you fit them, you'll need the wiring for the UCh board etc could be a real pain trying to sort that out tbh.

lol at the carrot commment

Have to diasagree though.....going from my 172 with xenons to my Gfs 1.2 without is quite a shock! I find the lights on my 172 great for nightime driving.

As for the halfords bulb route..shite...worse than normal hedlights

"Does what it says on the tin"

LOL at that name :clown:

I can confirm they do look like xenons in your rear view. I mistook Dan's car for a 182 the other day

The washer are a pain in the arse, they are always bloody leaking. Do you need to have the washers with xenons to pass the MOT?

we`ve sold hundreds of these and they never fail the MOT at all
you need to stay within the parameters of up to 8000k though, any higher and its a fail or you`ll get pulled
