Would have to be a 225 hard top old shape with the small wheels though humm I love them.

Id pick the tt, but they can be a bit of a disappointment to drive though apparently.

For that much money, integra dc5/ 350z/ e46 m3 if you want something sensible, or vx220t/ elise s2 if you can live with one everyday.

Dont know anything about 197's myself but TT's are nice, solidly built cars, they handle a bit on the understeery side though.
I think they are a design classic, one of the nicest ones I've seen was a hard top in cream with a black roof and black + chrome euro alloys.

TTs are shite and common...apart from the new model which is a huge improvement. I say for that money a 2001 M5...absolutely amazing cars, and reasonable to run too. Similar pace as an M3 but more discreet and much more luxurious
