Orange now charging for itemised billing?

  ex Clio 172 owner :(
Went on to Dolphin £35 per month in September.

First of all they didn't tell me I'd then have to pay for sms delivery reports at 1p each (soon mounts up). I had to stop using the reports.

Now 3 months into my contract they've put on Itemised Billing at £1.28. Something I've always had for nothing. I phoned up to complain but the woman was going on about they've only just had the IT system updated to put this on the bill (rubbish) and any animal tariff less than £40 per month now has to start paying for itemised billing.

I've had it stopped altogether. Don't really see the point of it but it's a disgrace them suddenly starting to charge. Don't see how the can really I thought the contract was a two way thing.

and customer service calls on pay as you go 25p per call i found out the other day

Have a look through the contract and see if there is anything in the T&C that may be a loophole on their part. If there isnt and they've now made a charge for something that was previously free you may be able to either cancel your contract without any penalty. They'll probably offer you the itemised billing FOC to keep you or they may just offer to reinstate it FOC as a gesture of goodwill.

Can't wait to leave orange!!

nothing but problems this year!

My bill is way over this month, so I rang up to find out why, she told me you don't have any text allowance on your account (i'm supposed to have £10 of texts) and that they took it off without informing me, so i'm paying £55 a month for 600 mins, on any other network that wouldn't cost more thatn £30!!!

Then I try to do my billing online, first it says register, so I try with my number and it tells me the number has already been registered, so I try the "forgot password" and it tells me the number hasn't been registered!!! so they wan't me to ring technical support at 50p per minute!

I HATE ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a note on the end of one bill a while back iirc, I can remember summit coming with my bill or a note right at the end saying itemised billing would be charged for from now on unless you ring or txt a number, s**t really, same for delivery reports, soon mounts up.

Free texts are down to a fair usage policy of 3000 a month, so correct me if im wrong, if you SHOULD send 3000 txts a month there will be a £300 charge?

they messed up and sent me itemised billing when I said I didnt want it when signing up. left it a few months and phoned them for a refund of the charges back dating about 5 months.

wasnt much of a problem for them to do it :)

I have same contract but the phones4u man told me about this so i didnt have it.

Im not happy with the contract aswell and wouldnt mind cancelling it ive had it about 2 months and the 14 day peace of mind is out of the window and sold the original phone i took out with the contract.

Do you have to pay the remainder of the contract to part from orange and give the phone back ?

yes, if you want to cancel then yes you pay the remander of the contract. Best bet is with orange i believe after 6 months you can lower the tariff but i would double check that. That way you lower it to the lowest tariff ie £25 with orange then wait for the next bill then ring up and ask to cancel and you will be charged the remander months ie 10x£25 instead of £35x10.

With orange if the tariff is less than £40 then itemised billing is £150 (inc VAT)

Oh and if you can find 600 mins for £30 please let me know. as atm 600 mins will cost:

orange = £40 = 600mins
voda = £35-40 = 500 mins
02 = £35-40 = 600mins
3 = £45 = 600mins

I have moved to orange from o2 on the dolphin contract. Had no problems so far, apart from I dont really like the k800i, but that isnt their fault, shame Im in an 18 month contract and have another 14 months before it ends and i can get a decent upgrade. sure I can wait

If your on Orange, delivery definitly are charged for, I found this out in my first month with em, soon as bill came and I realised they charged for delivery reports, turned em off.

just on phone to them now.. been charged nearly 30 quid for delivery reports!

rang up and told them i have checked the terms and conditions and it mentions nowhere about chargign for delivery reports.. he said it was a mail shot with novembers bill

i didnt get one else i would have turned the bloody things off.

hes refunded me the money this time, and ive switched the delivery reports off.
