Orbisoud exhaust for 182 ( video )

It can be fitted to the 172 with some work ( 182 exhaust manifold upgrade, spare wheel to be removed and silencer mounting plate holes to be drilled, rear bumper to be modified ).
Ktec is also selling a twin exhaust conversion for the 172 if I remember well.

Yeah, I think it sounds like it's got an induction kit of some description too.

Any other mods?

The car is using the standard airbox with a cotton panel filter from JR.
The price of the complete line is 704 euros ( grouped order ) excluding vat ( your vat is lower than in France... ) and excluding delivery.
If you are interrested you can email me.

  MK2 Audi TT - 2.0T dsg.
Going in to AAS on Saturday to get my new system put on may take them some sound clips along and see what they can do :D

For the mods, I'm planning to put it in Ben's hands soon or later...
The only mod it has for now is the brakes upgrading. This was an absolute necessity since I live only 1 hour from the Nurburgring...

A last word about performance. This exhaust line has been designed to optimise torque at low rpm. Orbisoud is working with Renault Sport on many project. They had an access on the thermodynamic optimisation data from RS.
The line bore, silencer volume, and cat position have been chosen to give a max torque at 4000rpm. It is very very nice...
The exhaust has been approved by Renault Sport but is not sold as Renault spare part ( wich is the case for the track Cup line also made by Orbisoud )

How much is that in real money? also im not sure what you mean by "track cup line" is there another track spec version available ? If so what are the differences between the two.

The track cup line is made by Orbisoud and sold by Renault Sport for the track Clio Cup.
Is is basically the same unit except that it costs 1100 euros and is very loud ( 90 Db ; the silencer volume is much smaler )

price isnt bad at all (is that including VAT i take it?), i'd prefer the louder freer flowing track silencer but not the cost to go with it, lol

Depending on the exchange rate I worked out 704 Euros as about £570 including 17.5% VAT. Not too bad.

I also translated a bit from the Orbisoud website. It looks like the use a 200 cell cat (instead of the standard 400 cell). It also looks as if there is a place to mount a sensor (Lambda). 60mm diameter between cat and single rear silencer. 2x 45mm exits from silencer, and then 2x 92mm tailpipes which obviously fit in standard slots.

They claim a boost in power of up to "10 CV" across the rev range, which I'm assuming would be about 10bhp? This probably isn't a peak power boost? Sounds good though if its true.

Looks light compared to the standard system too.

Looks alot better, when i get round to changing mine i want a system without a y piece in it and with only one silencer on it no matter which system i decide on.

Therre is a new regulation in France for the Cup competition. It is limiting the cars noise ( among others ).

  Audi A6 (S3 on order)
The noise limits on track are only going to get lower due to tree huggers.
Orbisoud have done well to keep it that quiet whilst increasing performance.

Looks like a good design to me.

Not as good as the AngelWorks Technologies system is going to be though.

Any details on the AWT system mate? I'm desperate for a new exhaust but want one that increases performance rather than just looks/sounds better.

I'm very tempted by this Orbisoud one because the cat is included, it looks/sounds just how I want, increases performance and isn't ridiculously expensive if I go in with Olin's group buy.

The only thing making me hesitate is the fact I would have to get it shipped from France, meaning more hassle if there are any problems or I'm not happy with something.

By the way, Olin, I e-mailed Fabien earlier today, so I'm waiting for his reply now.

You'll see better gains without the cat in place. Should imagine any aftermarket decat system will be more powerful than a cat'd version.

I realise this but don't want a full decat as I really can't be arsed with messing about when it comes to MoT time (even though its a while away!).

I've also heard that the 100 cell cat on the Orbisoud is very free-flowing, and will hardly offer more resistance than a full decat, plus it comes with places for the two sensors that are either side of the cat.

Just think it's a good compromise when you consider how much you would have to pay for a decent cat back stainless system for the 182, plus a seperate sports cat.
