ordering exhaust system in parts

spoke to 2 custom exhaust makers today, both said around £300 give or take for a cat back system. however i can order the parts off them alot cheaper. if i was to order it in parts what would i need to order? just a length of pipe and the back box or is there anything else i need to order with it to make it work? any help appreciated

yeah probably but im low on cash and i could have a £350 hand made cat back system for about £100 this way so its what im gonna do, just need to know the components i need to order, any ideas?

and you have all the equipment to bend/cut and weld these parts together, right?

my mate owns a garage and he said if i get the bits hell fit it all for me, hes to busy for the near future to have a look and tell me exactly what i need so wondered if anyone here could help me in the meantime

given the time and faff getting it lined up right etc, I'd simply pay the £300 as thats pretty good value imho

is your current exhaust broken or are u just looking to upgrade if the latter then i would wait and save up £300. thats my opinion anyway, i just brought a janspeed exhaust for £350 and can't fault it and I concider it good value for money

i got a message of a fella on here selling a cat back system from C+C exhausts for my car, think im gonna go with that and save the hassle

Doing it yourself will only end with a gutter hanging out the back of your car.

there is a reason why exhaust companys spend large amounts of time designing stuff, testing it,re-designing ect

Off the shelf is the only way to go

unless like fred said you have all the kit to bend,weld and pack

oh and the Skillzs init blood

i say it in ghetto because thats what you will be rolling diy style


save up...its will make sense in the end
