oreca exhaust on a 172 (pics?)

  CBR1000RR Fireblade
hiya

i have seen these exhausts for sale and is ideal for what im looking for, i have seen one picture of these exhausts being fitted and it looks to stick out about 10 inches from the back of the car.

is this right?

do they stick out a foot from the back of the car?

has anyone got any pictures of this exhaust fitted to a 172?

thanks

^^^^Is this what you're on about?

IIRC it does stick out a bit, like a OMP zorst.

^^^^It's on the list mate, I want something with a bit more rasp :rasp:

Can't get enough rasp!

Also if it sticks out to far you can just cut it down as its not exactly a finished bit of steel. Anglegrinder and jobs a goodun :D

it was a 172 mate, i dont want this exhaust if it sticks out past the bumper. (the kids jump will jump up and down on it to snap it off the little s***s)

I know I will possibly get slated for saying this but I am sure longlife could make one to the spec that you want that would look exactly the same for less than that including decat.

  CBR1000RR Fireblade
long life are s**te, a mate has a long life turbo back on his astra GSI and it has rusted to bits in 4 months.

i once had a long life decat made for my VTS and that did the same tbh.

i dont do custom exhausts for this very reason

hmm, I have one on my current car and its been on for well over 6 months with no issues, and also had one on my previous car with no issues, I think it must depend on what branch you use. You could possibly try BTB exhauts.

  CBR1000RR Fireblade
i have heard the different branches thing before aswell, same with powerflow aswell. (although i would rather eat my own head than get anything powerflow on a car again)

where can i get a BTB from mate?

The stealth one are desgined not be seen and look like the standard one, i.e. sit up behind the rear bumper, and give a nice tone I belive. Search the forum or youtube I am sure you will find somemore info about them

  CBR1000RR Fireblade
its hard to describe but i am after an exhaust with a nice tone thats not quiet and not deafening.

(im awkward i know)

My bro's got the Oreca. It's exactly the same as the OMP which I've got (bar the branding).

He's had about 1 1/2" cut off the exhaust tip so it doesn't poke as much though.

I'll get some pics of it the next time I see him.

The oreca one bucks the trend in being a smaller bore by the look of things. Anyone compared these performance wise to the more popular brands? Being a group N system I take it they are optimized more for bog standard engines.

as far as i were aware they were 63mm nominal bore, IIRC the tip is the same too. so i cant see how they would be restrictive?

They're not restrictive, they are pretty much an exact copy of the OMP units.

Infact there are two versions of the Oreca, the 2 1/4 inch Group N (same spec as the OMP) and a 2 1/2 inch Group A.
