OSx system encryption

Can it be done with pre-boot authentication.
I've used truecrypt which is amazing on windows but it doesn't work for system encryption on OSx.

I know I can buy PGP which I believe allows whole disk encryption. Anyone used or know of something else?

Sorry I forgot to mention looking for freeware as otherwise I'd just buy PGP.

I've been using this for quite a while now on various systems (so long ago it was still owned by Utimaco before Sophos bought them out), as a product I like it.

OSX Lion out later in the year has full drive encryption as a feature.

Or if you've got cash to flash go for something like a Stonewood drive
