Well, you need to wash and clay the car first, trust me, your pads will get raped if you dont clay and your paint still has bonded crap all over it.
After your dry, park it up, tape up and begin.
Pads and polishes needed vary depending on paint type and how bad the swirls are. For a renault, i would go with something like a 3M waffle polishing pad (the yellow one) and perhaps Meguiars 205. This way you will have a bit of "cut" to remove defects, and the finish will be good at the same time. This happens to be my favorite combo, but it doesnt mean to say itll be yours too.
So get the machine, put the pad on, squirt 3 pea sized blobs of polish on the pad then work it in. Start at slow speeds (1-2) and then after working it on like that for 20 seconds, crank it up to 4-5. Work it in until it goes clearish.
You should work an area about 2ft by 2ft. Let the machine do the work. once your done, rub the area down to remove polish residue, and move on to the next one.
The G220 is very safe, if you burn through your pain (even if you crank it on full and press very hard) ill personally pay for your car to be resprayed lol.
