Is there a way to have a "from" box.

I want to use my normal email account but i have a second email address i want to be able to send on behalf of?

If it's Outlook 2000, 2003 etc you can only send on behalf of someone else if you have permision set on that persons mailbox on the Exchange server.

If it's Outlook Express you can send from any account.

As black kro has posted, that's how to make the field visible.

I don't want to send on behalf of another user - i want to send on behalf of another email address :)

You can't in Outlook 2003. It would be seen as spoofing to a degree. Outlook express is the only one which allows you to select a different send From account. To do it in Outlook 2003 you would need to start up a new profile using the second account.

Oh that's extremly shite.

So its a case of creating a mail box and a new profile for the exchange account.

No worries...ta!

If you want to send from the second account you need to setup Outlook to open that mailbox. If you have send as permision for that mailbox you can send on it's behalf but the From field would show something like:

lee@cliosport.net; on behalf of; b3nje@cliosport.net

A lot of my PHP scripts spoof the "from" when sending emails.. as they are normally sent from non-accounts (if that makes sense). It incredably easy to do.

I must of missed a simple setting BUT...

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:
· Unavailable
· Protected with file permissions
· On a share on a server and the network is down
· Corrupt
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify file integrity.
More information about this error message online.

I get that when trying to open the mailbox in outlook.

I've added etc so it is in my toolbar but receive that message upon clicking it!

Is this on a corporate network?

If so when you open the other account do you use a different login to the one you normally use?

You won't be able to open a mailbox which isn't associated with your login account unless it has the relevent permissions set on the Exchange server for the account you are using to be able to access it. As I'm Admin I can just add and open any mailbox I want.

  Megane DCi 147bhp/350nwm
Indeed - business domain.

I'm admin also yet for some reason it's not letting me.

I've changed the permissions on the other account so its "send on behalf of" and added the normal account as the mail box admin!

the name is right - i blanked his surename yet its in the box below lol ^

Adding that permission will only allow you to add your name in the From field when sending a mail.

To access the mailbox itself you'll need to go into Exchange Advanced and then into Mailbox rights. Just add yourself and give yourself the relevent permissions, or just sod it and add the lot. lol

If you are Admin you should be able to add anyone you want to that list.

We've got a couple of Admin accounts and the backup software has access to each mailbox on our servers.

the SELF privilages are something no admin can remove - i'm sure i have read something about this?

It says i can't add myself in the same forest etc

Lee

  BMW M2C
Don't remove Self for gods sake. lol

Now I'm confused. It's only giving access rights to an account. I've never come across that error.

nevermind - it's b0rked.

just created a new email address and it still won't do it yet others are allowing us to send. POOP
