outside temp guage

hi got a 2001 ph2 1.2 dynamic
didnt know it had a outside temp guage until the other day when it randomly came on saying 60*c
it doesnt come on every time i drive but about 50% now, temp varies from 50-60
just wondering if it easy to fix and where the sensor is

On my 172 the temp sensor is in the passenger wing mirror.

The sensor is the little nipple like thing on the underside of your passenger wing mirror, I dont know if the wire has just come loose or if its a new sensor you need but thats where its located

Oh and new sensors are IIRC £30.
