Owners of lowered Williams......

....do you think your car handles better since you lowered it? I have recently had the rear of my car lowered to match the front which is -35mm, the car now seems much more nervous/twitchy round high speed corners and possibly understeers slightly more on low speed corners. I have not had the tracking/camber adjusted at any time will this make a difference? It handled really well when it was low at the front only but it looked like a dragster!

Dont forget evo rate it as one of the best handling cars of all time, so do you think a £100 lowering job would make it better?

Martin, speak to Paul, he has lowered his valver by 35mm all round and it not only looks better IMO but he said the hamdling is also a lot better. The Willy seems to be a firmer ride anyway tho... only mods I would make would be engine and brakes, the handling on mine is absolutely spot on.

Need to get tracking and brake bias sorted for the weekend dont want to end up off roading! Might try adjusting my coilovers to find a better setup as well.

Most people say the Williams handles much better standard.

Anything throws it out.. lowering, shocks etc..

After all, it was designed to compete for Renault.. they wouldnt use a crap, bad handling car - theyd want it to be the best.

Well ive never driven a decent standard car as the suspension on mine when I got it was way past its best but when I put the coilovers on it was dropped -35mm at front standard at the back and it was superb! Looked a bit odd though and I gave in to temptation and had the rear levelled out now its much more twitchy. Might take it back up to standard height not sure yet...
