Oxygen Sensor

  clio 172 cup

My mk1 172s in the Renault garage today due to very bad cold starts, idling too low and running lumpy. Theyve diagnosed the fault as a faulty oxygen sensor. It will be fixed free of charge, but im worried that it may have caused damage to the engine, its ran lumpy since i got it 3wks ago. Can anyone give me advice?

Cheers eddy I just checked it on Dialogys. Bugger thats expensive!! Can you clean it?
Well if the one you have is broken its worth a try what could go wrong.

Just make sure you give it time to dry it out before you stick it back.
