P2 Airbox

Hi All

I know this has probably been mentioned before, I have browsed the forum couldnt see anything specific.

I have the Standard P2 Airbox. been messing about with it recently and decided to take all pipes off, the one at front right and the one under it. Much more noise but didnt notice any power loss, which is all i am worried about.

Out of experience is this set up bad, problematic? Or good? Would it be better if i connected both pipes back and left the one that connects to the Acostic Valve off hanging towards wheel arch? Will i still get the same amount of noise i get back? Just trying to weigh it up really.

Thanks

you'll not notice much mate. Leave the lower one on, and remove the side one for the induction noise. Makes no difference really.

Affects are minimal. Taking the pipes off makes it a lot louder (I have done it on mine, its great fun!) but doesn't affect anything else too much. There is the potential for slightly less power as you are sucking in hot air from the engine bay, not cold air fed through the feed, but the loss is minimal (1 or 2 bhp at most).

If you are just driving on the road keep it off if you are happy with the noise. I am going to put mine back on when I go track daying, but only so I dont fall foul of any noise restrictions (I have a loud aftermaket exhaust too).

i ntoiced that leaving the one that goes under the box and taking side off doesnt make much noise, however both off much more grunt.....is there a right or wrong?

people normally remove the side one, i did for a while but then realised it sounded broke and so reconnected it back
