Hi chaps

I have a Packard Bell Ixtreme PC and it has a slot at the front to swap HDDs. One question what type of HDD so I have to buy?
Want to add some additional storage space.

Does it take 2.5" or 3.5" discs?

Are you more interested in speed or capacity? As you say that additional storage space is important - I'd be looking at a SATA-III HDD - the largest you can get. Assuming that your PC has the relevant SATA connection and mount to house such a drive?

Might be worth checking on the supported capacity of the PC itself. You can buy 8TB hard drives now, but they are very expensive and a good chance that your motherboard won't recognise them. My mobo needed a BIOS update to see anything above 3TB in size.

Bought a WD Sata 3.5 inch 3TB. However I did'nt know about the motherboard issue.
Ended up doing a bit of updating.
It allowed me to seperate the HDD into 2 drives. However it still has 749GB I cant allocate.

Cheers guys will have a look into it.
The hard drive is purely for media as I already have a 1tb drive for the OS.
