Pad Change on 172 Cup

  Clio 172 Cup
Nope but I'd alwasy do it.
Thanks, just trying to decide what to say to the garage who've recently serviced the car.

They fitted new front pads and changed the fluid without asking, I previously had Catrol SRF fluid and DS2500s. The brakes are now run in and not feeling anywhere near as good as they were so it's time to have a rant.

I don't mind the fact they changed them without asking, as I've used the guys a lot, but when the car is quite well modded, they could have thought about it and put on equivalent parts or given me a quick call.

They charged me £25 for the brake pads and told me they were pattern parts, fitting cost £45 and another £7 for fluid (all minus VAT) so £90 in total for parts that aren't doing the job for me :(

I was thinking of getting a new set of DS2500 and doing the job myself, would that be a major effort?

changing the pads is piss easy.
just changed my disks and pads and fluid.

brake fluid is usually changed on a service, but if they see you are runing decent pads etc they should use their sense ask you first.

Fluid needs to be changed at 24k or 4years

I'd change it more often if doing track work though.
