Final thread on this!
Should the brake pads actually be touching either end of the carrier? I understand filing DS2500's down stops them pinning themself between either end of the carrier and squealing.
However my calipers seem to hold the pads in place so that they are unable to slide in the carrier. I have sufficient room for expansion around a 1.5mm gap at one end. When placing the pads into the carrier they sit on the bottom end of the carrier while I replace the carrier. I do have a ring sort of marked on the back of the inside pad from the piston ring.
Should I pop a little wedge in there until I get the caliper back on and the bolt done up and then remove it so that it's not touching any ends? Although when the pad grips the disc It might just end up pushing it back against the caliper anyway.
Or is there something I should be doing to the caliper/piston ring?
Just trying to exhaust every option before I have to put up with the squealing.
Thanks,
BennyC
