Quick one lol.
Giving x2 wheels a refurb in the not too distant future lol. As they've had a previous blow over, they are peeling slightly in some areas. I've got some proper Wurth wheel paint that looks spot on colour match wise so thats ok. So i need some advise in the prep/spraying. Firstly as they are only spares, so no tyres will be fitted. Am i right in thinking to rub the wheel down with some say 800 grit wet and dry, consentrating on the flaking areas? Once done clean up/panel wipe etc. Now will i need any primer at this stage???? I'm only keying the surface and sanding out the flaking etc.....? (so imo no need for primer?) Then lightly coat the alloy with 3-4 coats of silver wheel paint (basecoat). Now leave for a few days.... Now here's the bit i'm not sure on. After the silver basecoat, do i need the wet and dry down with say 1200 grit, then laquar???? or just laquar straight on the base coat with no 1200 grit rubdown? :S
Cheers
