I c**ked up the first time I used it as i rushed into it... Ended up needing a blow in on my rear bumper - but i got this at a discounted price from a mate so it wasn't the end of the world
As russ said, you need to be alot more carefull with rotory. You need to move them alot faster across the paintwork than you do DA as it gets the paint very hot, very fast. I tend to keep spritsing the panel with water to keep temps down
Dont be scared of going rotory though, Just read the guide on DW thouroughly and you will be fine... They are AWESOME-ly faster than DA... As i mentioned above somewhere, it took me 6 hours to do my mates car fully - including refining (he'd already prepped it with clay etc, and we were working like nigerians).
There is still alot for me to learn with rotary but i have got the basics i think. Need to learn other methods of using it.
I'd also reccomend the kestrel. Its a bit heavy & a tad loud but if your not using it every day its awesome value for money. Although if i were using it day in day out id be pissed with it. The makitas and chicagos are a fortune though so this is the best all rounder with the electronic spin/pressure control thing. It also takes a while for you to get used to rotary as they move completely different to DA. Rotory tends to want to go in arc movements, but you can control it how you like once you get the general jist of how they move.
Iv sold my DA as i thought it was s**t - wish id have never bought it now and gone straight to rotory lol.
