Paint cover on Import Warranty

Hi All, I have noticed some pretty bad paint finishing problems on my 172. The car is an import, and does have the full 3 year manufactures warranty. But, does this warranty cover the paint warranty? I was reading the paint warranty section of the service book, and says about if a problem is found with paint, on the car registered in the country of origin, which of course is it not. Anyone else had paint warranty work carried out on an import, or can confirm that it is covered on the import warranty? I am going to check this out with local renault dealer sometime, but just wondered before i go! Thanks.
