Yes, 2 hours is ample time, not rushing either.
If you go off 5 hours to prep and paint a bumper, imagine how long it'll take for a full respray.
Prepping is not hard if done correctly, painting is not hard when done correctly.
If taught well and treat every job the same, your best, you can become a very good painter.
25 minute for my lacquer now, bake time.
But you could paint a bumper in half hour and prep it in an hour.
Obviously a new or rub down with minimal damage bumper can be done within the hour, if the bumper is cracked, dented or stone chips, then that time will increase accordingly.
Are you a painter too pacman?
Total work for mine after my little quibble with a bollard, and with the other work I want done is over £3,000. Hope that helps you get back into orbit with your bumper repair
How the fcuk do they think that's good enough is bonkers mate.Yes I feel for alright.
Picked up the car this morning, to say i got a tear in my eye (for the wrong reasons) is a understatement. Side of the car has bad orange peel, none of the chips where filled in before paint, various dust marks in the paint, front bumper colour is just silver not with the green tint you get from moonstone, same goes for the rear bumper, and to finish it off i have a 1 foot wide paint run on the lower corner of the rear bumper.
Yes they are re doing it all but I have little confidence.
The car had paint on the side before and it was flawless, feel like I have gone backwards....
Will post up pics I a bit :-(
Me too, I'll put some fuel in the Spec C and go out for a drive to cheer myself up.Maybe I expect to much, dunno, children are starving in the world and I'm crying over paint, makes me feel bad, genuinely.
Sometimes paying strong money doesn't always result in winning. Well for the customer anyway.
Hope you sort it.
I won't go on a rant mate. It's not even to do with the average person spotting it... A blind man could spot that.
I do really try to refrain from condemning other people's work where possible. Something I was always brought up with, every business can have an off day... What you've imaged is beyond shocking. You may think that is small issues... It's not. Those things are major issues that leads to bigger concerns. These aren't normal things that happen in body shops now and again and they can be forgiven. That there will be their usual standard barring a few good jobs. That is fact I'm afraid.
To give you an idea. I tell every customer that the idea of coming to my bodyshop is that the car should be returned to a condition where little or no one can tell it has been repaired or painted.
If you strive for the above... There is a chance you'll get close. I always think the bodyshop should choose what is acceptable, not what the customer will accept. That simply leads you down the road which you've ended up with.
What is more concerning is didn't these guys come with a good rep?
Can you tell me what the breakdown of the repairs and paint were? Did they give you a proper quotation itemised?
I don't even understand painting over or lacquering over a chip... It's a f**king bodyshop... That's what it's in for!!!!
Rant not started...
The reason I was asking about the quote is incase they were maybe blending some panels etc and that would give an easy excuse for the chips.
It's very poor if it's a proper bodyshop. Again making it even for guys like me to get customers to trust us with their pride and joy.
That's just stupid and why would it not all be painted at the same time? Even if you painted it 2 years later the mix should be the same. We're talking exact measurements here, point grams.
The colour matching there is no excuse, sometimes you can forgive plastic to metal but that's the wrong shade.
