Paint Work

  CLIOpatra, L22EE W™
Hey all,

I just finished washing my Clio, but noticed something wrong with the paint work. Basically I came across tiny specs of rust within the paint work, over the clio.

My Clio is a 05 reg (about 7 months old), so I don't think that this is right.

Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, is there anything I can get done re: warrenty?

Thanks,

I have tons of little orange flecks on my bonnet, there a railway bridge about 100 metres away. Though I attribute the flecks to motorway exhausts - as they are only found on my bonnet

Are you sure it's rust?

I often find specs which appear to be rust on my 172 - they wash off. More than likely tiny particles of metal finings that stick on the paint and then rust.

Nope I don't live anywhere near a train station, nor train tracks.

I am sure that they are specs of rust, because I couldn't pick them off with ease. They seem to be in-bedded into the paint.

It is defo rust, but I don't know where it has come from, or why it's happening...

If you can remove it it will be iron filings off railways tracks. They get kicked into the air and then land on cars and rust ontop of the paint. Try a Claybar before panicing as sometimes they are stuck on and cant be removed by just washing.
