Painting badges + bullets

  Jap Box
Firstly, how would I go about reoving them? Front diamond, rear clio + renault badge and the two bullets.

Would they then need sanding down and primering?

Found a can of hammerite paint here to use for the job, but its metal paint, would this work fine on plastic?

Thanks

rear clio and renault: get a old credit card behind them and wiggle them out, sand, primer, spray...etc
be careful as pins holding them can snap!

Diamond and bullets just pull off, be careful though.

Sand down primer, basecoat then clear basically.

Hammerite will not work(well).

i used a screwdriver with some colth or rag round to prize the bullets off, the cloth stops it marking the paint etc. good thin layers of primmer, leave to dry, thin layers of top coat, then lacquer.

Thanks for the help, popped down to halfords and picked up some white primer, white paint, clear laquer and some wet + dry paper :)

Just need to wait for the rain to stop now to get the spraying done on them, prised the bullets off my old PH1 so now I have a spare pair incase they end up rubbish :rasp:

Diamonds dont just pull of, they are held into the backing by 3 pins......you melt them from the back to remove properly...... then you can glue the pins back in for a proper job. 2 Screws hold the backing into the bumper, and you can remove these by removing 2 clips on the top of the bumper and pulling it forward. (Did it on my mates car)

i did that but instead of taking the diamond off the backing i just masked the back up and sprayed the rest :)

  soon to be 182 ;)
this is a ph1. so use a screwdriver and rag on the front diamond, do it from the bottom so if it marks its not visable, then the rear badges to remove mine i took off the bit on the inside of the boot and tapped the pins to stop them breaking. and side bullets just lever out with a screwdriver :) and paint as said above make sure it is warm when you paint them it will give a better finish, preperation is key, a good surface for the paint to key to is better, and make sure they are fully dry, if you want a nice shine wet and dry the pieces with 2500-3000 grit paper and polish up so they are smooth and shiney :) have fun

Take the entire side strips off before removing the bullets, it's safer than to yank em... Get your hand under the strip and pull out and backwards... Ph1 and ph2 strips are pretty much held in the same way aren't they ?

EDIT: didn't realise this was a bump, sorry ha
