Painting Plastic?

Car  1.6 Ford Focus
Unsure if this should go in here or the bodywork section as its a part of both...

In the Ph-Quick the pastic surround in the center console for the heating vents and head unit is painted silver, the same as the exterior bodywork color. I would like to do the same with my Ph1.

Is there a certain paint I should use to paint this plastic? Can I spray metalic paint straight onto plastic? Or would I need to use primer first and then paint over it?

This of corse is assuming the panel comes off which I would assume it does.

depending on what plastic primer you use, you may need to use a normal primer on top of it as some of them are purely for adhesion perposes and cant be flatted to get a nice finish.

I have some metallic silver paint sitting around that has extra adhesive mixed into it according to the can... its really sticky as well.

Perhaps if I find something like that in the right colour, would that work?

look at my project thread for getting the panel out

Where's the thread? I can't find it in the Projects section.

When I refurbed mine I decided it was too much of a pain in the arse to get the panel out so I masked up the whole car and sprayed it in situ!!
