Paintless dent removal

Got a couple of dents around the car that I'd like removed. Seen online that you can get a do it yourself paintless dent removal kit. Has anybody had experience with 1 of these or should I get a professional to do it?

I’ve had a pro out a few times.

Watching him do it it looked like one of those jobs that you need a lot of practice at to get good. Depending on the car and how bad the dent is I don’t think I’d try it myself

It's impossible mate unless you've had a lot of practise.

Unless it's one you can get behind and tap out with a rubber mallet I wouldnt even bother trying it.

The cheap glue puller ones are useless as well.

The suction cups aren't too bad for getting out big dents but will still need perfecting around the edges if the panel is creased

Ok I'll phone around and get some quotes for a pro to do it. Thanks for the comments!

Sadly the best local dent man to us passed away over a year ago now. He was great at his job. Finding someone else to use by us is hard work. Good that is.

Used to charge me £20 for the whole car when I bought a new one

Was a great guy, not because of that lol.

Thanks for the comments prices seem pretty reasonable for a pro to carry out the work so I shall be going down that route.

Get recommendations from someone else who has had it done locally. As others have said PDR can be flawless if you get a skilled professional.

It's absolutely crucial you don't try and do anything your self. Without proper equipment you will 100% make it worse and risk permanently deforming the metal.

I'd call my local and reputable bodyshop and ask for their contact.

Guy near me makes a serious living from this.
He has the contracts for local car dealers mainly high end.
Works van is fully loaded VW camper conversion, 911t & Mrs runs round in a TeslaX

Has anyone got the details for pacman's brother who does it ? (can you message me his number ?)
He's Essex based though.

If we had a really good dentman round here he would clear up.

Call him mate, he’s not far from Chester way and if you have a lot of work I’m sure he’ll travel. He specialises in sent pulling as well as PDR. He’s an absolute genius.

Yeah tbh we don't have much work. Will bare him in mind though :)

Defo, I’m a perfectionist and wouldn’t use anyone else.

There’s also Gary based in Stockport who is as good. The two of them have worked together and are pretty much the best out there. As I’m no longer living in Manchester I tend to use Ben.

Just had a guy do one in mine for £40 in Stockport if you're local

I had a guy out from Leeds called Dentzilla on monday to do,
dent in rear quarter,
dent in boot,
carpark dings,
two small dents at bottom of drivers door,
straighten out the common bonnet ones that were barely visable.

Cost me £100

Just had a quote for the dents on my roof of £50 seems pretty reasonable for me and the reviews are good too. Just need to get paid now!

Are there certain dents that can’t be pulled out due to location. I need one doing just above the wheel arch. Read that the area can’t be accessed ?
