ClioSport PH2
So lucky enough the weather was good on saturday so my mate and I decided to dedicate the day to the 172's. My mate owns a lovely 172 cup and I own a Monaco Blue 172.
Jobs to tackle:
Monaco Blue
* Shock + Spring change
* Regrease all components
* Inspect Exhaust Blow
Cup
* Rear Discs + Pads + Bearings
* Change Seized NSR Caliper
So got started...
On shock removal I had a BIG suprise...
Turns out all this time I thought I had APEX springs due to ride height turns out I actually have EIBACHS which was great but also left me puzzled as the car sits low, so are these correct???
Anyways so the fact I just bought a set of Eibachs of ebay just means Ill have to relist em..... DARN!!!
That was the culprit to horrible handling one leasky rear shock but thought id replace all anyway with standard original RS items and brand new top mounts.
Mate had finished his cup quite qucikly (head tech @ BMW) so gave me a hand to finish mine.
End result was a MUCH MUCH better handling car very tight and amazing feel! and a more even ride height all round.
All in all great day and well worth it and after we had finished went for a long play round all the local twisties and all i can say is WOW what an improvement and SOOOOOO worth doing. Found the task really not hard to complete and exhust blow turned out to be the o-ring after downpipe and few perished exhaust rubbers! happy days!!!:rasp:
