Afternoon all. Thought id start a thread, hopefully it may be of some use to others but for the most part, it will be to document and track my vehicle progress.
So, i bought my first Clio sport this week, its 182 in Arctic blue with 95000 on the clock. it came with a folder full of paperwork for work done, belts and dephaser done, full service history etc....
My initial thoughts were to keep it standard and enjoy what is a well set up car to be fair (but then we all say that in the beginning don't we)
Couple of pics after having it cleaned.

After three days of ownership, ive started to creat a list of things to do;
Buy new floor mats
Cigar lighter doesn't work so order new one (arrived, usb type)
Sort headlights as they have developed the haze
clean seat belts as they are rank
order a bonnet, a touch of rust on the front lip
change colour of wheels, going to go darker grey i think
fit osf wheel speed sensor and brake light switch to turn out the management light
get hold of an autoglazer (windscreen has a score across from the drivers wiper, thought it was just dirt when i collected it)

I was going to say photobucket doesn't work now unless you paid the obscene cost?

What's that?

Yeah they benefit mate. Only downside is on standard springs they look too high.

@Kelv has some springs that would suit.

And those pics do work mate. Photobucket started charging to use that site so suprised we could view them.

I have an iPhone, take pics and upload straight onto here using the upload function

At appears to be a breakdown of all the equipment the car came from the factory with. Came with an extreme pack?
I've never paid for photo bucket so I'm not sure what the deal with that is.
I may have to have a good think on the wheels then.

Well knocked off the first thing off my list, fitted a usb charge port as the cigar lighter was dead.

Lasted all of a day, same lights back on. I've got the abs service and traction light on. Any thoughts?

It needs adjusting so the brake lights come on as soon as the pedal is pressed. It's on a ratchet type thing so you can adjust the length of the switch. It might take a couple of trys to get it set right.

It's almost the exact size, just needed a rat tail file to widen the hole a touch.

Had another look at the brake pedal switch, turns out it doesn't have any adjustment.
I've ordered a genuine one from RPD this morning as the drunk lights are getting on my nerves now.
I've also put some time aside tomorrow to get the decat fitted and to sort out the rank seat belts.

So I've finally got round to sorting some stuff on Mingo. First off, I received a genuine brake switch from RPD (quick turn around so cheers)

Got that fitted up, took a few attempts to get the drunk lights to stop coming on every time a touched the pedal. For reference, mine was at five clicks.
Then was time to fit my stereo, I'd ordered a conversion look to make life easier.
So I started with this

Turns out the lead wasn't correct as my steering wheel controls don't work. Have orders another and will fit that when it turns up.
Lastly, everytime I got in the car I was met with the disgusting now brown seat belts.
So armed with these

Now their not great yet, but they are massively better. So that's my Saturday messing done. After a two hour kickboxing grading and then that, I'm knackered so it's beer time as far as I'm concerned.

So managed to get a couple of bits done today. First up was to change the rear gearbox mount as I'd got an evol one. So what I started with.

First impressions, the gear change is like night and day. It makes a huge difference for the better with regards to selection.
Downside, the vibration is already doing my head in. Will give it a couple of days to settle and hope that it either improves or I care less lol.
It also looks like I've got an oil leak which I'll need to look at shortly.

Also managed to change the rear exhaust mounts as they'd seen better days.

Gonna pull the headlights out this weekend for a clean up and fit the decat I have.
Thoughts on tyres people? Need two front ones and the Toyo proxies that are currently on sent inspiring me with confidence.

I would go for semi's all round mate. I used them daily without problems. Some populair choices: Nankang NS2r, Federal 595 rsr, toyo r888(r), toyo r1r, nankang ar1 (not really recommended for daily use imho), yokohama ad08r.

R1R's are cheap and pretty good in the rain too.

Sorry it's been quiet on the update front, as always life has a habit of getting in the way. Have decided to order uniroyals as had them on my previous 300bhp car with good success. Plan is then to buy some ultraleggas and fit some grippy black donuts for summer.

So yesterday was a s**t day. Back end skipped out on the motorway (shitty toyo's) and resulted in this. Gutted. Though very luck it wasn't more.

oh dear, tbh to hit something on a motorway, which usually means some kind of speed is involved, and only come out with that is good going
remove t1r's immediately, burn with fire, replace with rainsports all round. safety first :)

To be fair I'm very very lucky. I was doing 70 in the overtaking lane. Spun twice and clipped another. I've replaced the fronts with uniroyal which are epic, it was the back that stepped out. The rears are going in the bin as soon as.
