Parade Lap in Honour of Dan aka Iridium

Hi guys

After hearing the exceptionally sad news about Dan passing away I thought it would be a fitting tribute to him - a true enthusiast - to celebrate his life with a lap of honour around Rockingham Race Circuit. Ive arranged with Mark Dow for those of you going to FCS this year be able to take part in a parade lap of the track in honour of Dan.

The lap will be taking place at 13:30 around the full banked oval, at a slow steady pace, no racing or overtaking as health and saftey wont allow.
Each person wanting to take part will need to come and see me in the admin marquee to sign a form and collect a pass - this will let the track marshalls know where your going. Anyone without a pass or signed form will not be allowed on the track.

Im hoping some members of v6clio.net will be able to join us too.

If i could as people to put their names down so we can get a rough idea of numbers.

I would say if any Cliosport member is on a different stand this year at FCS who wants to take part in the parade lap please still go and see Sash in the marquee, she will have the final say but I'd hope that the parade lap isn't restricted to clio's only.

[French Car Show]

Hi all

Don't worry about numbers, if this gets big and looks like it needs extra time we will donate the appropriate track time so we can accommodate this. The oval is 1.5 miles long so that is a hell of a lot of cars. As we are not using the infield area (trade from last year) we will be able to stack up to 300 cars in there so this is not a problem.

I understand Dans mum etc may be coming to this so I cannot think of a better way to remember Dan.

The parade will be more than one, that's for sure as I would imagine there will be people still emerging when the lead car does one lap. I am also confident everyone will be sensible in the circumstances.

We need to think about who will lead the procession.
