Parrot Kits

  1.6 Astra Sporthatch
Picked myself up a Parrot CK3100 kit from a Citroen at the breakers, and have a few questions.

Where has everyone mounted the screen in their clios? Not sure where the best place would be!

I assume I'd have to declare the kit to my insurance?

Is the wiring all going to be right as its come from a citroen? Says nothing in the manuals online about altering wiring for different cars so im assuming it should be okay.

Lastly, where would you hide all the box and wires etc behind the stereo? Where's the best place? Run the cables through and put it all behind the centre console behind the heater controls etc?

Thanks guys :)

I have one. It is mounted near the indicator stalk.

I have never told my insurance. It plugs direct in the back of the stereo.

Good placement! I'm thinking now either that or right hand air vent, How'd you find the kit? Not even turned it on yet!
It is brilliant. Renault mounted it there. They said if it is too near the window the wind will affect it., It has been in 9 year. So far so good.

Standard ISO wiring, may have to change the red/orange on parrot for ignition feed/constant supply so screen says 'goodbye' when key out, best place to mount box is behind carpet at centre consol side in passenger footwell, it's a pain to get all the wiring behind stereo but can be done, most insurance companies will cover like £500 ice as standard, the ck3100 is only worth around £50 nowadays so wldnt see why you would need to declare

Ah I wasn't sure if you'd have to declare it because wouldn't it be appealing to theives? Also I've got a Mk3 so not too sure where to mount everything, might put it behind the hazard/lock buttons I think theres a compartment there you can use but not too sure! Just need to try it first and see if it works properly :)

Lol at declaring. An insurance company really wouldn't give a damn.

On the ph2 the mute goes into the "mute 3" bullet connector. You should have mute or pause on the display depending on the radio you have.

I know it's a PH2 but the mk3 has a similar panel. Mounted a couple of ck3000 kits like this

I mounted mine here, as that side of the display isn't used as aftermarket stereo

The unit fits perfectly under the clock display, all wiring hidden

Looks quite smart! The one I've got is a CK3100 so has the LED screen too!
