Parts to replace top mounts?

I currently have Compbrake top mounts and they're guff, these are all I've ever had on the car so I don't know what I'll need to replace them...

Part numbers etc would be brilliant...

I'm guessing I just need:

Top Mounts (is there more than one part to this? (I know I'm retarded))
Top Mount Bolt? (as the compbrake thing is massive)
Washer to stop future knocking? (I know I don't need this but may aswell)

You need AST top mounts tbh. Standard ones start knocking once they get a little worn.

I ordered 2 brand new "top mount kits" from Renault, and they don't even give you all the bits FFS. The bits I got in the kits were :

The bearing
The bottom rubber doughnut
The top rubber which goes under the bonnet
The top bolt for under the bonnet

You still need an insert which keeps the bottom rubber donut sat in place properly on the strut, and a thin nut which holds the entire thing together until it is bolted onto the car under the bonnet.

jcc- i see your problem if you were going back to oem top mounts and had thrown all of the old bits away. but if you got that kit from renault (renewing oem for oem), could the insert and nut be re-used of the old top mounts? as the parts renault supply are just the bits that wear out by the looks of it.
reason i ask is that i think i need some new shocks and top mounts soon, so i wanted to make sure i ordered all of the right bits.

Yeah they could be reused, I ended up using second hand ones from members on here, what you are saying is probably correct that they aren't expecting anyone to need to replace the insert/nut as they are metal and won't wear out. Still annoying when you ask for the full kit and they hand you something that is technically incomplete.

I know getting rid of my ASTs and coilovers are going to be a utter pain in the ass.

IIRC the kits I got were a bawhair off £40 each with trade discount, will check on Tuesday when I'm back at work. No idea what the insert/nuts will cost, Fred says the nut is a dealer only item aswell.

I've looked in my garage and found some btis of top mounts, but not a whole set, so I think I'll need a new kit.

I phoned my local motor factors and found that a "kit" is about £37, I'm not sure what it includes yet so I guess I'll find out soon.

The thing is, I have no idea if I'm going to be able to describe the "thin nut" as that's the only extra I need (I think)

Once I've solved this I'll post my findings
