Hi guys,
After some help/advise. I purchased a used PAS pump, the pump on my car is noisy so as I want to replace the AUX belt for piece of mind I thought I would swap pump out whilst I’m at it. It’s going to be a few months until I get around to this job I’m sure however can anyone tell me if play or float in a PAS is supposed to be there? I’m aware the pulley has to be pressed on to the correct position, which makes me think there should be minimal play. I’m getting a mm or 2, understanding there is no fluid in the system which would offer some resistance. I get fitting used parts is an unknown risk, so may opt for a brand new/recon unit. But thought I would ask here in case I’m barking up the wrong tree and it’s all fine
