Passat came in on breakdown

Would never ever buy a common rail diesel car, I like to think I know what I'm doing and aspects of it still baffle me... And the bits I do understand I can't test due to lack of equipment, it's a joke!!

To be fair, i see a lot of cars through the workshop, and generally they are pretty reliable - we had a 59 plate mk6 Golf in last week, 98,000 miles on it and its only had tyres, servicing and brakes.

A 53 reg passat today still on the original turbo and only 2nd clutch -296,000 miles.

07 reg passat, 143,000 miles and all original.

You always hear about the broken ones, never the 3 or 4 million still going well lol

And if you are unlucky enough to get a bad one, you can look forward to forking out minimum 4 figure sums every time it stops!!
