passwording folders/hard drived

Is there a simple way to password a hard drive of a folder? I have loads of pictures that I don't want random people seeing.

If you're using XP/Vista for example and your own passworded account, then just stick them in your My Documents.

However, if there's other Computer Administrator accounts, they will be able to change your password and get in.

If you use XP/Vista, you could always encrypt folders, then even if someone sets your password, and gets in, they won't see the encrypted data I think?

There is also software like 'My Secret Folder' which encrypts the folder(s) that you want to keep private. I don't know how much it is though!

Yup if an admin resets the password the docs are still encrypted using the old credentials. You'd then need to use a recovery certificate to decrypt the data back.

Or something like that, been a few years since I actually did this

Yup, I'd agree that personally I'd use something like Truecrypt or another 3rd party app

What type of person uses your computer mate? If its just a basic user that you dont want to stumble across the files maybe just right click > hide folder. Then just turn off view hidden folders in the View options.

Can't you just use an external hard drive and only use it when you need to?

yer I have external hard drives, but its a hassle lol. Ive dont it now anyways, I have put the folder in a rare place where you wouldnt think to look, and then I have just put the address in the run and that opens the folder.
