PAYG mobiles on 02, locked?

As above, if I buy a PAYG handset from Argos that's on the 02 network, can I stick in an Orange PAYG sim and have it working right away?

If not, any way around it? It's for me mums xmas prezzie and I know she won't be arsed with changing numbers etc!

yea I know, i'm not arsed about the money. It's just with it being a present it'd be easier to not open it and fek around.

No, but you can buy a phone on Orange PAYG and have it working right away.

dont damage the box when you open it. get it unlocked and pop it back in the box. will still look new and will work as you want it too.

a phone on 02 is on 02 mate. if the phone is unlocked, it will say on it the box

PAYG = locked.... unless you get in from CPW when o2 ones are nearly all sim free.
