PC HDD Options?

Ok, so in my main PC I have 2 x 150GB 10,000rpm HDDs in RAID.

I've recently purchased a HD Camcorder and storage space is now an issue. I obviously want to purchase more storage but if possible not compromise the speed of the 10,000rpm discs.

If I purchase 2 x 1TB 7,200rpm discs is this likely to slow things down if the OS is on the 10,000rpm discs? Things like programs & games will all be installed to the 10,000rpm discs? I assume it will make no difference to the operation of the computer as they will only be used for storage of video.

i got two 500g samsung f1 drives i'll sell ya if you like? fastest drives you can get at 7200 level

answering your question no. but as an alternative, you could get yourself a ssd drive for the OS and a 1.5tb drive for storage?...worth a thought.

The Samsung F1's are awesome drives. I swear by them. Cheap as chips too.

As said, will make no difference at all. It's a recognised thing to have a high speed smaller drive for your OS and larger slower speed drives for storage.
