PC Problem :(

  Punto/Clio GTT
ok for ages now, ive had a really dodgy mouse. Ill move the mouse really slowly and all of a sudden it'll jump into a corner. ill scroll it back and itll still jump back into the corner. Its like its being pulled all over the place sometimes.

i bought a new mouse and its the same again.

ive also tried format harddrive and same thing.

Could it be the motherboard? or something else? its startin to annoy me now

cheers

Have you installed the manufacturer’s drivers or are you running the Windows default ones? Optical mice? Or old fashioned ball ones?

I would think the drives would make a tremendous difference mind you. How is the PC at running applications? Jumpy? How much RAM is installed?

i had an old rollerball mouse and that used to jump around and go into a spasm, opening and closing applications very very quickly whenever i moved the mouse, since changing to optical, the mouse goes into spasm but doesnt open any programs, it just jumps around into the corners.

using the logitech drivers on the disc that came with it.

computers running as normal.

512 ram

Most odd.

What does Task Manager say about programs draw on system resource? To me it sounds like a software issue rather than a cooked motherboard. Although, as with all things, I could be wrong.

Are you using a Belkin wireless NIC in your PC? They use that .exe in their drivers and the PC grinds to a halt. It's their absolute horse-s**t software that they use....

yea im usin belkin wireless card. actual pc seems fine though, running like normal. it was like this way back when i had blueyonder.

my p2s slot is dodgy, the plug wont go in, it goes in slightly then falls out, so im havin to use both my usb's for mouse and keyboard.

i been told to try turn off the ps2 as it maybe shortcircuiting or causing some kind of problem. can i disable ps2 socket in bios and where isit?

cheers

Solution:
The issue that you are having with the CPU reaching 100% is due to the program winxpdisablezeroconfig.exe not being able to terminate the windows wireless support functionality.

This issue is something that we have seen on a small number of computers.

To resolve this issue please follow the instructions below.

Click start, run
In the run box type msconfig and then click o.k.
Click on the startup tab.
Uncheck winxpdisablezeroconfig.exe

And then click o.k. and then reboot the computer.

Using the process above will stop this process from running and will not cause any other problems.

(This is following advice from Belkin)
