Ended up downloading this for PC in the end. Couldn't find any stores with it decently priced.
Just gonna have to buy the Karkand map pack when it comes out.

Been using all 3 classes and there about the same score on points apart from the recon class, haven't reached the first recon unlock it doesn't appeal to me sniping with this std sniper rifle 
. Level 11 now and starting to unlock some decent stuff think its the M416 rifle I really like it

It says downloading but it actually installs from the disc.

Somehow get the feeling although its going to be good, its not going to be the actual follow on to Battlefield 2 I was hoping for.
But then I guess the FPS market has completely changed since that came out.

Yup, totally defeats the object of what made the original so good. No one speaks to each other, poor squad layout, no one spots, no commo rose, no ability to way point. The more I play Bad Company 3, the more pony i think it is tbh.
Got dumbed down? Afpmsl that they made it so noddy.
If they do make Bad Company 3 I hope it doesn't end up like Battlefield 3.
Getting f*cked off with being booted from games due to connection issues now, it's a pain in the ass trying to find a game in the first place!

Been playing this tonight on my PS3. Single player is not much fun, I'm still working through Op: Swordbreaker (Hard difficulty) and finding it really frustrating.
As for multiplayer, I don't like TDM (I play hardcore) - the spawning is incredibly annoying, knowing that there's a high chance I'm going to appear on the battlefield next to an enemy already pointing his gun my way. I'm also finding the control system a little "loose," I can't describe it any better than that, but I just don't find it as fluid as I used to find BC2. All in all, I'm pretty gutted about it

Tbh I don't think we'll ever get a true follow on to Battlefield 2 on the PC, that all those who played it would love.
The market has just changed so drastically. First Person Shooters used to be limited to 'gamers' really. If anything it was 'geeky' to play almost!
But with the explosion of COD which changed the FP shooter genre hugely, and bought it to the mass market, there'll never be a time again when it'd be economically viable for developers to make a PC only game like the original Battlefields. There'd be no money in it. The demand of said market on what they expect from a FPS has also changed dramatically.
All the money is in consoles, not helped by the issue of piracy with the explosion of the internet.

Sad times indeed. If it hadn't been released to c**tsole, I imagine it could've been infinitely better. You're right though, it's all about the easy money so can totally see where you're coming from. Can fast see me getting bored of this same as all the other bad company s**te :dead:

As people have said, to me it actually feels like a step back from bc2. The maps and graphics are great but it just feels sluggish.
Spawning right next to an enemy is starting to piss me off. In fact I have never rage quit a game in my life until 20 minutes ago. It's testing my patience tbh (and I don't have much to begin with)

Yeah its annoying when you ask someone for medical help or ammo and they don't drop kit... I know people may be getting their heads round the new class setups but its not exactly difficult (is it?).
I'm still not 100% made up on BF3 either but I think its because I don't like change and they've made a lot of them (annoying tactical lights that can blind you in daylight... Whatevers). I'll be alright in a weeks time when I understand the maps and have some unlocks. Deffo loving the fire selection though; single placed shots for the mutha-funking win!

Not sure mate, I haven't either. Imagine there still are plenty of servers though. Only thing is I think going back to it now it will feel quite dated I imagine, like I said when it originally came out it was similar time to COD2, so before COD4 came along and changed the genre massively.

You must be either gravely mistaken or really, really s**t at it and just rage hatin'. Because it's bloody brilliant
I'm not a fan of Battle log, it doesn't update quick enough and it's a pain in the f**king arse...but the MP itself is immense, it feels nothing like a port at all and the game has been built from the ground up with PC in mind, so that old chestnut need not apply.
Nothing more satisfying than making a 300m headshot or blowing up a tank single handedly \o/
Comparatively speaking CoD to me feels like Quake 3...which makes sense as it uses the same graphics engine lol. Yeah, how s**t is that... not my cuppa anymore after playing BC2
