PC World laptop

  2004 1.2 Dynamique
One of the sites i support have recently bought a new compaq laptop from bloody PC world!! Now its come with Vista home edition on it, now for it to go on our network it needs to be downgraded to XP pro whenever im trying to reinstall it with XP pro its just giving me the following message!

"Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continute, To quit setup press F3"

Any one else had this problem i've had it before where a XP home edition machine wouldnt let me reinstall it with XP pro and it was giving the same message.!

Help!!!
