PDA/tomtom nav system

  ICE'dberg MK2 172

Thinking of getting one of these setups.

Saw a HP4155 + Bluetooth GPS and software on Ebay....finished around £300 (missed it:()

Is that a good price?? also can these setups detect camaras?? Like the road angel.

Might sell the Angel and go for one of these.

Sorry...but know nought about them and would appreciate any input.

Thanks :D

The road angel is just a GPS receiver with a database of co-ordinates, which show areas on intrest (speed cameras, blackspots etc)

The only advantage about the road angel is having the laser sensor to see if their pointing the laser gun at ya (at which point youve been caught anyway)

PDAs would be good for sat-nav, and u can download the map overlays which show where the cameras are (not sure on how often they get updated thou)

iv got ipaq and tomtom, proper bo, only prob is if i dont use it for 2 weeks battery goes and memory is wiped! proper w**k!

I got an ipaq 1940, and wireless bluetooth GPS reciever wiht tomtom3 installed.

You can get a free overlay whihc has all teh speed cameras on etc, but wont detect laser guns etc.

mine cost £500 from dixons, but that was a good 6 months ago, and prices are constantly comming down.

If you xcan get a bluetooth one IMO they are the best as you dont have loads of wires. You will need to find a power source, ie car fag lighter, as the ipaq battery only lasts for about 3/4 hours while using bluetooth, the gps reciever battery is ALOT better though.

The kit i got had the iapq, tomtom, software, and a tomtom car kit, whihc included a cardle, and adaptors to wire the iapq up to car fag lighter

I got a Ipaq 3950 ...tomtom 3 Cf and it works a treat!...cant fault it at all and tomtom update info regularly. £300 was a steal as the Cf card and software cost me £250 alone

i got the 4155 and the tomtom3 package too. Got them off ebay months ago. Bought them sperately, worked out cheaper.

Great, the PDA is great, the software tomtom3 and gps unit is fantastic. Well recommend it, and expect to pay about £350 for it, £300 was very good!

Ive got a got a dell X5 with with GPS and TomTom 3, got it off ebay for £330 brand new. A lot more usefull than the tomtom all in one I think and its cheaper

i have a medion pocket pc running a wired gps rxr it was £280 with 2 x 256mb cards from aldi, i run the medeon nav on one and tom tom on the other card, i have the overlays for speed cams etc pretty good

Im looking to buy something like this aswell. I would love the TomTom Go but I know the built in antena is crap and you need to buy another reciever. If the TT Go was BlueTooth then I would have one straight away. I hate wires everywhere. Looking for a PDA with BlueTooth so I can get a wireless GPS reciever. I just know I ould never use the PDA for anything else other than a SatNav unit...
