Performance brakes not available for Clio mkI 1.2?

Hi,

Looking for some nice new disks and pads for above model, but having eBayed & Googled, seems that only original or lower standard parts are available.

Is it not possible to get drilled / grooved disks and cool sporty pads for the mk1 1.2?

I know it seems an overkill but I want to make the most I've got and I still might want to stop quickly - even my 1.2 can reach 113mph! :rasp:

That's what I'm looking for, thanks.

Some of the prices tho! I think Tarox 10 pot brake kit would be a serious, serious overkill on a 1.2L at £3600 front / back!!

Many of the brake parts on that website are advertised as 'suitable for all mkI including Williams' whereas everywhere else they are specific to different types of mkI. Does this mean that the disks and brakes on this website are non-standard and will require complicated fitting?

Please only answer if you know for sure, as I will be ordering / not ordering depending on the answers.

piece of pisss fitting mate took me hour n a half, take the wheel off, undo one screw, loosen the other one on the caliper lift it up, take the old ones out, bleed it, put the piston thing back in with a windback tool, put the new ones in screw the calipers back in theres a guide here somewere

But was that just for the pads? I'm fitting disks too. Is that more complicated?

<piece of piss> is relative to your skill level. Are you complete newbie / home mechanic / advanced mechanic? I've no idea what you mean by 'piston thing' or 'windback tool' so I'm already at a disadvantage!

... and brakes are probably not the things to cut my teeth on!

The rears have been grinding for over 6 months (but strangely only in cold / damp weather and for the first 5 minutes) so I expect they're fucked. Thanks for the link.

So...back to previous question:
