Might just be me but car feels a little slower than expected, any reason for this? or anything you may think it would be causing this?

Ahhh i see, what other options could it be other than the cambelt thats making the car loose power, the engine management light is on, and the throttle body is constantly buzzing....really have no idea...

could be a lambda fault. Once the light comes on plugging in to diagnostics is the easiest way to fault find. You'll be changing things and chasing the fault otherwise

make sure they have the GENUINE Renault timing tools (they wont )

ahhh great lol il have to run it by them, see what they say, they will say they have them regardless no doubt just to make me feel comfortable.....brilliant lol

they probably wont know the difference. There's so many cheap alternatives available, they'll have them. Until recently the tools were £250+. I do 2 a week so I invested

Ah as long as they do it and do it propaly i dont mind, they are quite a good garage have always been going there for the jobs i cannot do myself, they rekon it takes about 6 hours 30 minutes for a cambelt change on a 172 ph2, this sound about right? considering there are litrally no other 172s in my area, havent seen any so im guessing they havent done many but they have done them. (he said)

Renault book time is 7.2 hours. I'd be embarrased to go over 5 hours, but I was doing 4 a week at one point. I'd be worried by somewhere that's not a specialist in RenaultSport cars

is there an obvious way of telling if the cambelts not been fitted properly then? i had mine done by a Jag mechanic within weeks of buying the car so i wouldn't necessarily notice a lack of power or are you talking about a significant amount?

They usally make 140bhp if the timings out, Mine was out. and now its been corrected its a stagering difference
