PH 1 cost how much!?

I have been looking at buying a PH1 172 as imo there the nicest looking one and i have always had a thing for them. But realistically how much do they cost?

I have seen alot of sheds for around £1300-£1500

But anything in fairly good nick seems to be around 3k is this normal. Seems mad for a 10 yr old car on 60-80k?

I paid £1500 for mine and that had a few bits wrong with it, which i was planning on changing anyway. £2000-£2500 seems to buys a good one

3k Will see the absoloute mutts nutts of a ph1, i.e Edd's which he's just put up for sale, around 2k will see something reasonable, if I were to buy another, I wouldn't buy a lot of those that were under around 2.2k, as they all seem to have something that puts me off buying.

Any questions on any cars you're looking at, feel free to gimmie a shout, I've read up enough to know what I'm looking for.

Thanks alot for your help mate i was looking at around 2200 as a budget as i was selling a 2003 1.2 dynamic on 50k to fund it. Was hoping to sell my 1.2 and get a PH1 with money for a belt change and a tad towards insurance

Other end of the country mate else i proberly be very interested as thats how much i would look to spend on one. Seen some at used car dealers for well over 3k they seem to be abit like saxo vts's. Dirt cheap for a chavvy or high millage one or crazy price for a half decent one

£2500 will get you a minter thats had its belts done. see my project log i paid that for mine

I am not sure if anyone else in this thread saw it but someone posted pics of an absolute beauty of a ph 1 earlier. It was black and had red wheels. lovely motor and i am sure it was 65k on the clock and £2995.

Now i cant find it but it really was a great looking car

i was ultra lucky and got this one (my 2nd one) for £1650 on 56k and its textbook. Lowered/chipped/exhaust. and it was 7 miles from my flat!

you can get one for less than 2k that's not a dog. depends on the seller and how patient they are. Not everyone wants an oldish 2.0 petrol these days.

there's an absolutely mint one down the road from me. I've been told (from a good source) that he'd take £1500. I'm not sure on mileage but i'm pretty sure it's done less than 80k. not sure on belts.. but for 1.5k you can't complain.

Told him i'd advertise it on here but he hasnt been in contact. weirdo.

Factor in that most are due their second belt change this year or next.

Iam not that fussed about the belt change i have alot of trade connections so i should be able to get hold of the kit at trade cost and reduced labour rate. I would change any belt on a 2nd hand car as soon as i got it anyway for peace of mind.

Its a waste of £100 and a whole day if it turns out the cars not as described
