Ph1 172 Cambelt price

Hi people,

Got a Ph1 172 2000reg, only has 36k on clock but due to the age it is due a cambelt change i believe. I have been phoning around local garages for prices. Some wont touch it. Some say they cant as it needs a special tool. One price it at £800!!!!!!!!! omg. Renault say £490.

What should I expect it to cost?

Any help on prices to expect to pay or any good places in East Anglia area then please let me know.

Try and find somewhere for £3-400 quid. Had mine done for £215 by a guy with a hook for a hand and he's f*ckin awesome. Based in south wales though.

my local garage gave me a price of 300ish when i was asking round for prices - so i knew what to expect when negotiating the price of the car.

you do need specialist renault tools to do it

we charge £464.13 inc VAT all gen renault parts (and we have the tools too!)

Ive just paid £352 for Cambelt/Kit, bearings/Tensioners.

Errr, Im worried got my Cam and Aux Belt booked in tomorrow:

£167 all in.

Can anyone explain?

All I did was ask for a quote for my Cambelt and Auxillary belt supply / fit.

Nearest other quote was £183 + VAT

It's the 172/182's it costs big money on as there is so little space to work on the vehicles in question.

cheapest i got was £325 all in with an oil change aswell. STUNG. some people wanted £600-700!!!!!!!!! most of my mates didnt even want to touch it!
